Before God of War Ragnarok was widely publicized, everyone assumed that Cory Barlog, the director of the 2018 game, was the same person in charge of the new project. However, it was later discovered that Cory had resigned and was working on an unnamed project, and the director had recently vanished. He abruptly deactivated his personal accounts on a number of social networking sites.
Cory Barlog abruptly and without explanation closed his personal Twitter and Instagram accounts in the last several hours, and we still don’t know why, or whether it has anything to do with the impending Santa Monica studio projects.
Cory was previously asked whether the decision to postpone God of War Ragnarok stemmed from his vision of the latest developments in the development process, or if the decision was made by the board of directors, to confirm that it was his personal decision, as he believed that his team could finish the development process and release the game in the previous year, but he erred in his thinking, and no one else is to blame but himself.
God of War Ragnarok is set to release later this year on PS4 and PS5, and if Sony sticks to its current strategy, the game might be on PC in at least two years. It’s worth noting that Cory Barlog, who took over as director and creative director of the game launched in 2018, has been replaced by developer Eric Williams in the upcoming God of War Ragnarok.
