The Seat of Reflection, one of many dungeons dispersed around Athia where resources and a boss await, has received some new insights from Luminous Productions‘ Forspoken. However, in the same interview with Game Informer, creative producer Raio Mitsuno mentioned Frey and Cuff’s frequent banter.
Frey is accompanied by Cuff, a sentient bracelet, on her voyage through Athia. Our hero, on the other hand, is more hesitant, as it is more concerned with rescuing the kingdom. As a result, they’re more like “frenemies,” and they’ll frequently snipe at each other while exploring. But when is it “too often”? “Some observation has been made about the frequency of banter between Frey and Cuff when you’re out in the world,” Mitsuno noted.
“We’re looking at those types of things in terms of fine-tuning the frequency, making sure it’s not to the point where it feels overwhelming, but we also want to make sure it’s properly timed.” When you’re playing out in the great universe, you don’t feel like there’s too much silence. However, we don’t want it to be excessive. Obviously, you don’t want it to be background noise. As a result, we’re absorbing a lot of feedback and making sure we’re tweaking things to make sure it’s the best experience possible.”
Cuff, for example, will ask Frey whether he wants to explore the Seat of Reflection dungeon when they come across it. “No!” she exclaims as a result of this. But, you know, it’s like begging for it.” While such interactions are more humorous, Cuff isn’t always pleased with Frey’s noncommittal attitude. As a result, their initial interactions will be tense.
Forspoken will be available for PS5 and PC on October 11th. In the following months, expect more information and gameplay.
