Many people who signed up for Overwatch 2‘s closed PvP beta are probably wondering when their invitation will arrive. The beta is set to begin tomorrow and will be open to all players. “My belief is that it should be day and date,” Blizzard senior community manager Andy Belford said in a recent Twitch stream (which was captured by Overwatch 2 League graphic designer Zenofy) when speaking to Flats. The invitations will begin to be sent out on that day.”
Having said that, it will not be immediate, and hence not everyone will be able to use it at once. Keep an eye out for a FAQ and Q&A post that will provide further information when it is published. “Basically, we’ll switch it on and then start running essentially a script that goes through and grants access to everyone who we’re allowing access to,” said the author.
There are four new maps, the new Push Mode, and a new Damage hero in Sojourn available in Overwatch 2’s closed beta. Access to maps from Overwatch 1 is also available. It will also be possible to see the updated looks for Sombra, Bastion, Doomfist, and Orisa, albeit they will not be available in their original form until later this month. The whole game is now in production for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC — new datamining reveals that it will include a Battle Pass as well as Seasonal advancement and will be available on all of these platforms.
Keep an eye on your emails April 26th, Overwatch 2 Beta Invites will be sent out same day – access will be rolled out over time.
