The Quarry, the next big horror thriller from Supermassive Games, has now officially gone gold on the PlayStation Network. Announcing the news via social media ahead of the game’s June release, the developer said: In addition to Xbox One, it will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. 2K Games will publish the game.
It is about nine adolescent camp counselors who hold a party at Hackett’s Quarry in the film The Quarry (2001). When they are discovered by the villagers, their night of merriment swiftly turns into a nightmare (and something even worse, apparently). The player controls each of the counselors, and depending on their actions, they can either aid them in their survival or lead them to a terrible death, similar to Supermassive’s Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology.
The Quarry, which features Hollywood talent such as David Arquette (Scream) and Ariel Winter (Modern Family), has a total of 186 different endings for players to find. The game can also be played with a group of up to seven other people online, with each player having a say in important decisions made throughout the game. A couch cooperative mode is also available, in which each player takes control of a unique counselor. People seeking a more passive experience can, of course, choose from a variety of counselor personalities and sit back and watch the action unfold in the Movie Mode.
After a long wait, The Quarry will be released on June 10. In the following weeks, we’ll have additional information and gameplay footage.
