Despite the fact that E3 will not be taking place this year at Gamescom, the middle of June will once again be marked by important announcements being made by firms from a wide range of industries. Once again, Microsoft will do so with its own E3-style expo, with the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase planned to take place on June 12 — but there’s a fair likelihood that the corporation will have even more to show off in the months following that date.
In the gaming industry, Gamescom, a hybrid physical and digital event scheduled for late August, will be returning this year, and it appears like Microsoft will have a presence at that expo as well. The Xbox Two podcast’s Jez Corden recently stated that, based on what he’s heard, Xbox “may” be present at Gamescom as well, and that the company will have “some type of a presence.”
The fact that Xbox will be present at Gamescom isn’t the most unusual thing in the world, and having a presence at Gamescom isn’t the most unusual thing in the world (far from it, in fact). Even if we assume that the showcase next month will be jam-packed with announcements and improvements, it’s likely, as Corden notes, that some content will be held for Gamescom as a result of the anticipation.
It has been confirmed that Gamescom 2022 will take place between August 24 and August 28. This indicates that information about the event will begin to circulate in a few weeks, and we’ll know the outcome one way or another before long. More information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
