Sony wants to grow its brands a lot through the movie business. New productions will be made for God of War, Horizon, and Gran Turismo. Amazon and Netflix will work on some of these projects.
Popular games that are always on the minds of people who like to play them online are like a gold thread with a lot of potential. The people in charge of Sony know this, which is why the business panel that confirmed the plans of the Japanese company for the next few years had to talk about the growth of PlayStation brands in the movies and TV shows market. “Uncharted” is already on the market, “Ghost of Tsushima” is in production, and the last shots are being taken on the sets of “The Last of Us” (HBO), “Twisted Metal” (Peacock) and “Jak and Daxter” (film), but that’s just the start. Sony talked about ten projects that were based on PlayStation games.
The Japanese have confirmed that the latest rumors are true and that they want to make a series set in the “God of War” world. This should expand the story in a very interesting way and give Kratos even more fans. The job is to add more videos to Amazon Prime Video.
At the same time, it is planned to move to the new medium “Horizon.” Considering how much work the Guerrilla Games developers have done, it is hard to imagine an acting series, because the CGI would have to be very good for the story to work. So maybe a well-done cartoon? At the moment, Sony doesn’t say much, but we know that Netflix would handle the series.
There will also be a TV show or movie based on the “Gran Turismo” brand. The idea may seem strange on paper, but think about a young race car driver who wants to live out his dreams and win the Gran Turismo championship.

As “Horizon” and “God of War” show, the Japanese have already set up partnerships with two different SVOD platforms, on which we will see productions. We can guess, though, that these are long-term plans and that we’ll find out more later.
