A new gameplay overview trailer for Sonic Origins has been released by Sega in the run-up to the video game’s release on June 23. During Sega’s presentation at Sonic Central, the trailer was showed off to attendees.
Sonic Origins is essentially a compilation of classic Sonic games that have been restored and updated with a variety of new features. One of these features is the opportunity to play as a different character in games where this was not previously possible. For instance, players can play the first Sonic the Hedgehog game as Tails, or they can play levels from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as Knuckles.
The games based on Sonic Origins will include both a Classic mode and an Anniversary mode. The games are played in their original resolutions and with the original restrictions, such as having a limited number of lives, when Classic mode is selected. On the other side, the Anniversary mode supports the fullscreen resolution and provides an unlimited number of lives.
The original Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles, and Sonic CD will all be playable characters in Sonic Origins.
Sonic Origins will be available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. The minimum and recommended specifications for the player’s computer are specified here.
