The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is an unexpected new installment in the widely popular fantasy series that was written by J.R.R. Tolkien. It is a cooperative survival crafting game that is being developed by Free Range Games and will be published by North Beach Games. It will be available for purchase on PC in the spring of 2023 via the Epic Games Store. Watch the trailer for the announcement down below.
People can explore a procedurally created Moria on their own or with up to seven other players as a company of Dwarves who have been called to the Misty Mountains. In addition to obtaining materials through mining, they are able to create powerful equipment and find artifacts (like swords that glow when Orcs are close by).
Mining attracts hostile players, and if you want to stay alive, you’ll have to engage them in combat. In the meantime, you will have to perform a variety of tasks such as searching for food, getting sufficient rest, lighting your surroundings, and other activities. Within the context of the narrative, players embark on a quest to rebuild the Dwarven realm of Khazad-dûm by reclaiming various Dwarven sites, rekindling forges, and completing a variety of other tasks. Keep an eye out for further information over the next few months, and in the meantime, take a look at the official website.
