Some believe that Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls 6 very early, as the game was first announced in 2018 and did not receive any official offers or information during the last period, and it was confirmed that it was still in pre-production last January, However, the publisher just announced that Fallout 5 will be released after The Elder Scrolls 6 has been developed.
Todd Howard, director of Fallout Games, confirmed to IGN that Fallout 5 will be the next Bethesda Game Studios game after The Elder Scrolls 6 that he will oversee himself after Starfield launches next year, and continued:
Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production as you know, we’ll be working on Fallout 5 after that, so our slate is full of upcoming projects. We have some other projects we’re looking at at the moment as well.
During a press interview several months ago with Todd Howard, the creative director of Bethesda Game Studios, Howard played down the suggestion, stating that there was an initial idea of what Fallout 5 could be, and continued:
Fallout is part of who we are, we’ve teamed up with other people to work on the series from time to time, I can’t say what’s going to happen with the next sequel, but we have an initial idea for the game’s direction and a small list of features we want to introduce.
Howard explained that the Bethesda Game Studios team’s only primary commitment at the moment is Starfield followed by The Elder Scrolls 6, and with the latest project still a long way from a release date, it looks like it will take several years for Fallout 5 to officially be revealed.
