One million copies of Football Manager 2022, a video game developed and published by Sports Interactive that challenges players to create the best football club in the world, have been sold. The news was broken by Director Miles Jacobson on Twitter, who also confirmed that the sales milestone had been reached just the day before. “In these trying times, and particularly in light of the problem surrounding the expense of living, this is not something that we take for granted.
“Therefore, I would want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you who have either purchased the game or played it via Game Pass or one of the other platforms.” It took Football Manager 2022, which was first made available on November 9th, 2021, less than eight months to reach this milestone. When compared, its predecessor reached that milestone in fewer than two months and continues to hold the record for the game that sold the most copies in the series in the shortest amount of time.
Regarding the new features, Football Manager 2022 includes over 500,000 genuine players to recruit and 123 different football leagues to choose from. Alongside the introduction of the Wide Center-Back role, a plethora of new features have also been included. These include staff meetings, a new manager creator, enhancements to the Fantasy Draft, and merged weekly reports. Production values, such as player animations, have also been upgraded, but for the most part, this is the same Football Manager that players are familiar with and love.
Alongside Game Pass, Football Manager 2022 may be played on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles, Android & iOS devices, and Nintendo Switch.
