The leaks that occurred on Ubisoft‘s online marketplaces prompted Nintendo to release a completely new trailer for Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope at the most recent Nintendo Direct Mini. Alongside the demonstration of new gameplay for the turn-based game, it also stated that the game will be available on the Nintendo Switch on October 20.
The fight scenes took up most of the trailer. The combatants do not move in a grid-based pattern but instead, have free movement in the playing area and are able to dash into their opponents. For example, Mario has the ability to slide into a Bomb-omb, stun it, and then throw it at other foes to cause explosions and kill them. In addition, Bowser will be joining the team and will be armed with a wicked rocket launcher, as was shown in the screenshots that were stolen.
Today marks the beginning of pre-orders for Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. If this brief taste of the gameplay wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, then be sure to check in tomorrow at 9 AM Pacific Time for a special demonstration that will be broadcast on both Ubisoft’s YouTube and Twitch channels. In the meantime, make sure to check back here for any new information.
