A new trailer for Sonic Frontiers was released not too long ago, and in it, the game’s Cyber Space levels that adhere to the more linear 3D platforming of days gone by were demonstrated. Having said that, Sega and Sonic Team have also disclosed a number of new details as Auto-Combat. According to the plot, Sonic has made his way to the Starfall Islands in search of the Chaos Emeralds and his “lost pals.”

Along the way, he is directed by a “strange voice,” but there is also Sage, a peculiar girl who shows up in various locations across the archipelago. She is always advising Sonic to leave, however, the purpose of her advice is never clarified. Sage also possesses what appears to be the ability to manipulate the new enemies that appear throughout the game, including the enormous Titan.

In the most recent promotional video, Sonic fights his enemies by parrying their attacks. There are also dodges and counters available, however, those who want a more straightforward approach to combat can activate Auto Mode. This enables you to perform a variety of attacks and combos with the press of a single button.

In addition, there are two control methods that may be selected: action and high speed. The action control style, which is recommended for beginner players, enables “more accurate platforming.” The High-Speed mode is designed for those who have been following the series for a while and features a greater degree of speed.

This Holiday season, Sonic Frontiers will be available for the Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The game may be played through in its entirety in anywhere from 20 to 30 hours, however, completionists can easily quadruple that amount of time.
