According to many rumors, the upcoming Avatar video game from Ubisoft, titled Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, is scheduled to be released on November 18. According to a story that was published on Exputer by prominent industry insider Tom Henderson, who cites sources revealing the November 18 launch date, the release date has been determined.
The rumored launch date of November 18 places Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora squarely in the midst of other major gaming releases. This date also falls in line with Ubisoft’s earnings reports for the previous financial year, in which the company reiterated that it will be launched before the end of the current financial year on March 31, 2023.
Its release window also falls relatively near to the release date of the next Avatar movie, which is scheduled to be released in the month of December and is titled Avatar: The Way of Water.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is scheduled to be released for personal computers, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One X/S, as well as Stadia. It is likely that the decision to only include current-gen platforms will stay in line with a previous statement made by the director of programming, Nikolay Stefanov, who stated that the game will make ray tracing mandatory on all platforms it is playable on. The choice to only include current-gen platforms was likely made because of this statement.
This comment also suggests that in order to play Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on a PC, a graphics card that supports ray tracing will be required at the very least.
