You can think what you want about Square Enix, but the fact that the Japanese business is prepared to continue investing in new games with lower budgets and more experimental approaches merits genuine applause. The DioField Chronicle, a new fantasy real-time tactical role-playing game, was one of these games that were announced earlier this year. At the time of the announcement, Square Enix indicated that the game would be released sometime in 2022. Now that we have this information, we can better prepare ourselves.
According to the announcement made by Square Enix, The DioField Chronicle will be released on September 22. Pre-orders for the game will be available beginning on July 7, just a few days from now. Even better, if you are interested in playing the game but are not entirely sure whether or not you want to commit, you will have the opportunity to test it out before making a final decision. On August 10, a demo version of the game will become available for all platforms. It will include the entirety of the first chapter, which should equate to about an hour of gameplay, and the saved data from the demo will be compatible with the full game once it is released.
The DioField Chronicle will be playable on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and personal computers when it is released.
