The Gfk has just published its most recent weekly figures on sales of physical software in the UK for the previous week, and the results are pretty much what you would have anticipated they would be. The most notable new game to come out in the past week was F1 22, and as is customary for newly released F1 titles each year, it has already dominated sales rankings despite having been on the market for only two days. Even while these numbers only include physical products, the fact that PlayStation consoles accounted for 71 percent of its sales shouldn’t come as a surprise either.
The lone brand-new entry in the charts for this week is a racing simulation game developed by Codemasters. It is followed in third place by Nintendo Switch Sports, which climbs up from No. 6, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga comes in at No. 4, exchanging places with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at No. 5. Horizon Forbidden West, which occupied second place in the charts the previous week, has maintained its position.
Other games that are currently ranked in the top 10 include ones that are well known in these weekly charts. The football video game FIFA 22 is currently ranked sixth, while the similar-looking but vastly different Mario Strikers: Battle League is currently ranked seventh. The leaderboard is rounded off by Pokemon Legends: Arceus coming in at number eight, followed by Minecraft for the Nintendo Switch at number nine, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons at number ten.
