The Quarry, the newest interactive horror adventure title developed by Supermassive Games, has been available for purchase for close to a month at this time, and it has been met with favorable reviews from both critics and fans of the genre. Before the game was released, the developer disclosed that while it will, of course, have its couch co-op options available, the brand new online multiplayer feature wouldn’t be coming until July. This news came just before the game was released. That state has finally arrived.
The video game publisher 2K Games confirmed on Twitter that the most recent update for The Quarry is now available to players. The Wolfpack Online Multiplayer mode is the most significant new feature introduced by this update. It enables as many as seven players to compete against one another in online matches. In addition to that, as of the release of this latest update, players can now also listen to every episode of the in-game podcast Bizarre Yet Bonafide (which should be a good time, if the game’s end credits are any indication), and owners of the Deluxe Edition can now also equip their characters with new outfits that have a 1980s theme.
In our analysis of The Quarry, we gave it an overall grade of eight out of ten and wrote the following: “The Quarry may not be attempting anything groundbreaking, but what it does end up having, it executes on perfectly with great acting, a tightly-knit story, and relatable characters for a fun couple of nights of horror.” [citation needed]
The Quarry can be played on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC platforms. This coming fall will see the release of The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, which is the next horror game to be developed by Supermassive Games.
