God of War Ragnarok, which is being developed and published by Sony, will at long last be available sometime in November, and the company will begin accepting pre-orders on July 15th. In addition to the Standard Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition, there are also two physical copies of the game called the Collector’s Edition and the Jotnar’s Edition cloth map. Both come with a number of other physical goods, but the physical map of the nine kingdoms is by far the most interesting of the lot.
On Reddit, a user by the name of lhxward published a still shot from the unpacking video that demonstrates everything. One of the many fascinating particulars is that it appears that Surtr, the original Fire Giant, is standing in Muspelheim. It is also possible to view the Bifrost in Asgard, but Niflheim looks to have a somewhat greater amount of snow cover.
One might make the case that most of this won’t be in the game at all. Despite this, the art director of Santa Monica Studio, Rafael Grassetti, stated that the company is “eager for the fans to explore all of the realms” as the cloth map was being displayed. In the end, only time will tell, but it’s impossible not to become excited about it.
The release date for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of God of War Ragnarok is November 9th. Keep an eye out for further information over the next few months.
