Do you recall anything about Project Q anymore? If that’s the case, you have an excellent recall, but just in case you forgot, I’ll jog your memory here. This is a strange game being developed by Ubisoft (or its code name), and we have known about it for nearly a year now. The company at that time confirmed the work, disclosed individual details (such as the genre, climate, or aesthetic layer), and finally declared that they will be revealing additional material in the not-too-distant future.

The long-awaited “additional information has arrived,” as it was previously promised, is here at last. Unfortunately, it appears that there will be no more, since Ubisoft has announced that Project Q is one of the products that has been canceled as a result of pretty big moves inside the company (which we reminded you about a few days ago). The developers shared the following information with the editorial staff of Video Games Chronicle in order to put any concerns to rest:

We are able to affirm that we will no longer assist the development of Project Q in order to place our primary attention on the priority projects into which our teams are being relocated.

Well, there’s no sense in trying to hide the fact that it’s not a huge loss. After all, we didn’t know much about the production itself, and the fact that there won’t be another multiplayer game following the “battle arena” format does not indicate that there won’t be any other examples of this type. On the other hand, I was particularly interested to find out which route Ubisoft will take to prevent any sort of duplication. We will never know this, but we may continue to hold out hope that it will lead to a higher degree of achievement in other people’s works
