Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard ?
We were witnesses to a situation that was quite intriguing a week ago, as Microsoft initially signed a contract with Nintendo that would last for ten years, and then there was a significant hearing in Brussels. After the event, it was announced that the company would be working with NVIDIA, and the manufacturer of Xbox held a press conference to provide a rundown of the events that transpired in connection with the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
Britain’s Equity reportĀ has made news of the entire case, and the lawyers involved in the deal are described as being “optimistically cautious” about the outcome of the merger. This is due to the fact that the European Commission had previously approved similar remedies when Meta acquired Kustomer the previous year.
One of the experts from Brussels emphasized that Microsoft’s offer will be “sufficient,” and lawyers from Great Britain are expected to follow a similar path. This is the reason why the schedules of the European Commission and the Competition and Markets Authority are similar.
It has been reported that officials are only concerned with limiting the distribution of games for consoles, computers, and operating systems; however, Call of Duty is not the primary topic of discussion. When Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, individual brands were not dealt with either.
The transaction may be blocked in one or two smaller markets, but this will not affect the activities of the corporation, and Xbox will be able to join its Activision Blizzard family. According to lawyers, the transaction between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard is expected to be accepted by most markets.
