Around the release of Bleak Faith: Forsaken, controversy is escalating. There are claims that the authors plagiarized a lot of Elden Ring’s character and foe animations. Forsaken accused of copying Elden Ring.
The creators of Bleak Faith: Forsaken, which was published three days ago, are the subject of significant accusations. Many components of the Elden Ring were intended to be copied by the designers of this soulslike. The full animation sequences of the hero’s and opponents’ motions are what matter, and they remarkably resemble the award-winning work of FromSoftware. Videos online demonstrate the parallels between the recently launched game and Elden Ring (video below).
When character animations in Genshin Impact were compared to those in NieR Automata, similar accusations were made before against the game’s creators.
On Discord, the creators of Bleak Faith: Forsaken addressed these accusations. The writers assert that there is nothing improper with using the official animation packages offered on the Epic Marketplace.
“We have never hidden that we use the Epic Marketplace for animations. (…) The entire world of our game was built by hand, by us. Only 10% of the graphical aspects of the game were created on an outsourced basis, outside the studio” – stated the authors of Bleak Faith: Forsaken.“
Saw this footage floating around. Bleak Faith: Forspoken is 100% using animations ripped directly 1:1 from Elden Ring.
I do NOT condone people using my DS Anim Studio software to aid in exporting animations to include in commercial products or sell them on Epic Games Store. pic.twitter.com/9JHGMeu9as
