Sony and Microsoft are not “in talks” yet. Further partnerships are being planned.

The American corporation today confirmed the establishment of another cooperation, thanks to which Call of Duty and other games will be able to reach more players . The Redmond giant will soon reveal more partners, but apparently Sony is not on the list.

The Wall Street Journal had the opportunity to talk to Brad Smith and the president of Microsoft mentioned the nearest plans – the company will soon reveal “more” contracts that have been signed with partners. Each collaboration aims to make more players able to play more games.

In this case, Microsoft comes out with the same offer to all interested parties – corporations can guarantee themselves that they will receive access to the Call of Duty series for at least 10 years. However, as you can see, Microsoft is also happy to add games from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda and potentially Activision Blizzard.

The Wall Street Journal points out that this is how Microsoft wants to convince officials – the corporation intends to prove that it does not aim to limit access to Call of Duty, but will increase the number of people who will be able to play, among others, the Activision series.

Microsoft realizes that the potential “Call of Duty ban” is the only specific argument from regulators who do not want to allow the transaction to be completed, so the company signs contracts with partners:

“If the only argument is that Microsoft is going to put Call of Duty on hold on other platforms, and we’ve now made deals that will bring it to many more devices and many more platforms, then that’s a pretty tough case to bring to court“ Smith said.

Brad Smith added that Microsoft “hasn’t achieved a formal deal” and that his business is “not currently in talks” with Sony. In this circumstance, we can infer that the Japanese behemoth is still unwilling to execute a contract granting PlayStation users equal access to Call of Duty.
