Ghostwire: Tokyo on Xbox SXS/S April 12th. On PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Game Pass for consoles, it will be accessible. The developer also announced that “Spider’s Thread,” a new, substantial update, will launch simultaneously across all platforms.
The Spider’s Thread, a 30-stage gauntlet that players must battle through to reach the end, is a new game mode that was added by the update. The gauntlet draws from more than 130 meticulously constructed stages to offer a fresh experience each time. Moreover, overcoming obstacles will reveal upgrades that add power.
If you fail, everything starts over, but you’ll still have your upgrades. The Middle School section and expanded story sequences that reveal more about the plot are being added for story enthusiasts. Another nice feature is the “Reduced Horror Effects” setting, which substitutes stickers of Shiibuya Hachi for the eerie effects.
Akito has new abilities like counterattack, quick dodging, and charge rush. But wait, there’s more (which augments Palm Strike to become an elemental melee attack). New Tengu Wind and Spiritual Fountain talismans are also available. The Tengu Wind can be used to summon a whirlwind to go farther. Also, new foes including Sanguine Dancer, Quiet Gaze, and Retribution appear.
Lastly, Picture Mode is expanding with new stamps and game models that may be used in photos. These models can be unlocked by earning figures from capsule machines. There should be more because it’s interesting that some things are being kept a secret. In the interim, read our review of Ghostwire: Tokyo here.
On the same day, The Spider’s Thread becomes live, bringing with it several new features, including a new gauntlet mode, new opponents, new areas, and new talents.
