On February 10, Hogwarts Legacy entered distribution. Despite having only been available for a short while, mod enthusiasts immediately set to work. Thanks to fan labor, we already have some fantastic updates and upgrades for this powerful PC game. The most intriguing mods are ranked here.
10. Shrek Broom
This hack transforms a flying, magical mode of transportation into Shrek. When you’re floating through the air on the back of a microcephalic ogre, what more could you possibly want from life? At that point, you can declare that you’ve accomplished everything. Fans of Hogwarts Legacy should not consider Shrek Broom to be a “must-have,” but it is worth installing for the humor.
9. Mouse gesture to spell
An interesting mod from LSDL that allows you to cast spells in Hogwarts Legacy with the help of gestures made with the mouse cursor, a bit as if we were waving a real wand. It’s worth training a bit, because it’s not easy from the very beginning. After a few hours of trying, you will probably convince yourself of this surprisingly well-thought-out and executed method.
8. Talent Reset Potion
A very useful option. Talent Reset Potion drops a recipe for a potion into Hogwarts Legacy, which can be purchased from J Pippin’s shop. After drinking it, all assigned talent points of the main character will be reset. It’s strange that such a possibility does not normally exist in this great game without installing a mod.
7. Cinematic and Realistic Reshade
The best mod at the moment that affects the graphics in Hogwarts Legacy is a well-prepared reshade by Deehn, available for free on NexusMods. The rework improves the overall visual atmosphere of the game, increases contrast, tones down normally oversaturated colors and enriches texture details without sacrificing fluidity of the animation. The thing, of course, is a matter of taste and not everyone will like it. However, this reshade is worth checking out, especially if you care about deeper contrasts in places.
6. Autohomora
One of the simpler mods, but for many people indispensable. This mod by VTLI frees us at all levels from the lockpicking Alohomora minigame that many Hogwarts Legacy fans hate (mainly due to its frequency).
5. Tempus of the Empire
Many of us want to enjoy the magical atmosphere of the night (or day!) in Hogwarts Legacy (especially in conjunction with the Schedule Enhanced NPC mod). The problem is that time passes terribly quickly here and you won’t look back until the sun is already rising. The Tempus Imperium mod deals with this aspect of gameplay by slowing down the passage of time according to the player’s chosen setting. Instead of the default 48 minutes per 24 hours in the game, we can extend this time to any selected value (even up to 1:1, then the day in the game lasts as long as in reality). The default option adopted by the author of the mod is 4 hours, i.e. the length of the day is extended five times.
4. Companions Mod
Thanks to this great modification, you can take your companions with you wherever you go on the map. Importantly – the heroes help us in battles. You just have to remember not to use the Companion Mod when doing quests related to a given hero.
3. Alohomora Mod
Players have been demanding New Game+ mode practically from the first week of the premiere. The developers have still not responded to these requests (an update with such an option, however, seems very likely). This is where the author of the Alohomora mod comes into play, who provides options after its installation, as if there was a New Game+ module in Hogwarts Legacy. So you can start the fun right away with all unlocked spells, outfits, items, etc. Remember that the modification works only when starting a new adventure with a fresh save.
2. First Person and Customizable Cameras
One of the coolest mods for Hogwarts Legacy allows you to change the TPP camera into a first-person shot. This is not the end of the possibilities of this modification from YouYouTheBoxx, because thanks to it we will also change the degree of zooming in/out of the lens in TPP, which is useful in situations where our character is in tight building interiors.
1. NPC Schedule Enhanced (Better AI)
One of the best mods released so far for Hogwarts Legacy significantly improves the behavior of NPCs, providing them with new, routine activities, e.g. during the night (teachers walk around the castle and sellers return to their homes). Characters, like in Skyrim or Red Dead Redemption 2, do not evaporate after dusk and also perform other activities during the day – they go for breakfast or lunch, read, etc. A great thing that significantly increases immersion.
