Players are getting ready for a massive production with Square Enix. Finally, a studio official confirmed the duration of the experience and the specifics of extra activities. The players are in store for many enjoyable hours.
In terms of substance, Final Fantasy XVI might be one of the biggest video games of 2023. Because developers can boast, Square Enix discusses statistics openly.
Final Fantasy XVI alone would take roughly 35 hours to finish, according to Square Enix representatives who were quoted in the most recent issue of the Famitsu magazine. Initially, the developers wanted to make a much shorter plot.
In order for users to finish the adventure “in one day,” the team intended to offer events that lasted for about 24 hours. Nevertheless, things changed during this process. But, players need not worry about an uninteresting plot because it seems the authors have some surprises planned:
“For this game, we really wanted the player to experience the story from beginning to end. If the story was too long, the game could become tiresome. That’s why we want FF16 to be like a roller coaster where when you think you can see the road ahead, you’re pulled in a different direction,” said Naoki Yoshida.
The producer continued his thought and revealed that the developers have prepared all the content for about 70-80 hours of fun, and fans will still have to wait for New Game+, which will tire many players:
“As a result, the game is so packed with story, combat, etc. that if you don’t miss a single cutscene, it will take you around 35 hours to get to the heart of the story and complete the game. If you want to master and level up all the skills, collect all the accessories, complete all the side quests, and fight all the monsters, then you’ll probably get around 70-80 hours of gameplay. It doesn’t end there, because we’ve also prepared an incredibly difficult New Game+ mode that allows you to transfer all your stats, called “Final Fantasy Mode”. This will likely add even more hours of gameplay,” confirmed Yoshida.
The studio also clarified that the aforementioned 11 hours of cutscenes are only story scenes.
