The seasoned filmmaker and producer Zack Snyder delivered a surprise that he ostensibly shouldn’t have shared. In addition to developing the stunning space opera “Rebel Moon,” Netflix is also keeping an eye on the development of a companion game.
The streaming behemoth announced a long list of the most significant movies set to premiere in 2023 at the beginning of the year. The platform has frequently bragged about working with the biggest directors, so Zack Snyder’s participation came as no surprise. Rebel Moon, a film starring Ed Skrein, Sofia Boutella, and Djimon Hounsou, is to be directed by the filmmaker. The actor’s play is set in a colony on the edge of the galaxy, where the people are under attack from the forces of the dictatorial Regent Belisarius. However, they are assisted by a group of warriors under the enigmatic leadership of Kora.
Snyder startled his listeners by mentioning a different project on The Nerd Queens podcast. The creator supports the growth of Rebel Moon, which will broaden the world depicted in the television show. The American went on to say that he was chosen for the project because he had always wanted to make an RPG. Variety once said that Zack Snyder had a contract with Electronic Arts under which he was supposed to develop a new game, but the idea was never realized. It appears that working with Netflix will produce a far better outcome.
We’re working on an RPG that is actually so wild and engrossing, so intense, and so vast, revealed Snyder during the stream. “I really don’t sure if I should talk about it,” he said.
The filmmaker also disclosed that the title will include an “absurd scale” and a “fully created universe” that will be quite entertaining. Snyder did not specify which studio is behind it, so we are unsure if the role would merely strengthen the Netflix Games offer and be a mobile game or if it will be a fully developed, sizable multi-platform project.
