Studio 343 Industries has prepared an unpleasant “surprise” for gamers using slightly older graphics cards, such as the GTX 1060 with 3GB VRAM. In these configurations, the most recent patch prevents access to gameplay.
Halo Infinite’s official system requirements included a graphics card with 4GB VRAM, although many individuals with less powerful and outdated gear were able to play this shooter from 343 Industries. Unfortunately, the patch that was released in the middle of March makes this impossible.
The aforementioned upgrade enhanced the Xbox Series X and Series S 120 framerate priority (framerates are now better than 90fps). On consoles, this decreased the likelihood that the game would crash when in the customization menu. Players on PC who have graphics cards with VRAM less than 4GB are currently unable to even run the shooter, which was previously feasible. The creators did not make this change public in the case of PC. It’s important to keep in mind if you intended to purchase the Halo Infinite Campaign, which is available on Steam for PLN 124.95 right now (online game modes are available as free-to-play).
Ray tracing was just added to Halo Infinite. Though it seems rather minor, this option’s visual effect has not totally won over all of its followers. Thankfully, the developers were able to optimize its implementation. When ray tracing is enabled on a PC, there is very little framerate reduction.
