The gaming company Bethesda was acquired by Microsoft, and despite the fact that some of the publisher’s and producers’ games will still be released on PlayStation 5 in the future, in 2023 we will see the release of two fantastic, exclusive products. On the other hand, we know for certain that Redfall could have been released for PS5.
You will be able to read about our thoughts on Redfall today. Maciej had the chance to play the newest game from Arkane Studios while he was at the expo.
As you are aware, Redfall will only be available for the Xbox Series X|S, PC, and beginning with the premiere, the game full of vampires will be available in the Xbox Game Pass service. However, Harvey Smith also confirmed a very interesting fact: the production was developed on the PlayStation 5.
During an interview with the French edition of IGN, a representative of Arkane divulged an unusual piece of information, namely:
“We were acquired by Microsoft, which was a major Dramatic shift for our company. They came in and said, “Not PlayStation 5—we’re going to focus on Xbox, PC, and Game Pass instead.”
This was good news for developers, as it meant that interested parties could focus their attention on fewer platforms, which in turn allowed development to be streamlined.
“It’s not a big problem, and I believe that making that choice was the right one. [Enables] to support Game Pass and eliminates the need to be concerned about a separate platform.
Harvey Smith is delighted that the game will be available for the first time through Xbox Game Pass, as this will ensure that the game is played by a huge number of people right from the start.
