Sony announced today that it has acquired Firewalk Studio and that the studio is still working hard on a collective AAA title, and the acquisition comes after both of them collaborated in 2021 in order for Sony to publish a team game that has not yet been revealed.
Tony Hsu, Head of Firewalk Studios and Director of the new game, Ryan Ellis, said:
Building a new studio on a grand scale was a very exhilarating and relentlessly daunting task. ProbablyMonsters helped us build the studio, and Sony has been supportive of our project and creative vision from the start.
Great news: @FirewalkStudios is joining the PlayStation Studios family!

And they continued, saying:
Today we’re taking the next natural step and joining PlayStation Studios, we’ve been working closely with Hermann and the very talented team at PlayStation for years, helping to make our new game even better. Joining PlayStation Studios means becoming officially part of a family that has produced many of the most iconic games of our time, and we’re proud of that.
Firewalk Studios was founded in 2018 as part of ProbablyMonsters and was founded by former Bungie Studio CEO Harold Ryan. Team Firewalk is the latest studio to join the PlayStation portfolio focused on developing multiplayer titles, which is the direction PlayStation is heading in the future.
