In Redfall, gaining experience is, to put it mildly, incredibly challenging. Even on the hardest difficulty setting, killing foes only rewards relatively little XP. The first few levels will take hours to complete, and the latter stages aren’t easy either.
You’ll spend the most of the game wandering around barren locations with few to no NPCs and a few prowling vampires waiting to spring on you and drain you of all your blood. As a result, there aren’t many opportunities to farm XP at all, but we’ve compiled them in this guide. Let’s start now!
Note: The level cap is 40.
How to Gain XP Fast
Prioritize Standard Missions
In Redfall, missions are the best way to get XP. Just keep your mind on the mission’s goal and don’t kill enemies that aren’t necessary. Killing enemies is a less efficient way to earn XP than finishing missions. Here are some tips that will help you get ready for the more difficult missions:
The stakes help – Even a shot to the head with a sniper gun can’t kill a vampire. So keep at least one stake weapon on you at all times.
Upgrade the Rewire and Lock Pick kits as soon as possible so you are ready for anything.
Check your surroundings. You never know when an enemy will jump out at you, so always choose a safe place to move quickly.
Alarms can be turned off. Alarms in cars and homes are shown by a red light. Hack them with a rewire kit and turn them off before choosing either choice. If you don’t, you’ll end up telling the enemy.
One group at a time: Instead of attacking the whole enemy force, focus on smaller groups and wipe them out before going on to the next. This makes it much easier to finish tasks on the first try.
Not all silencers are sneaky. Even though shots from weapons that don’t make noise will not instantly alert enemies, they will still get their attention.
After you finish the main story, you should focus on the side quests. Even though it gives half as much XP as the main task, it’s still better than killing enemies.
In addition to the main and side tasks, you can also earn XP by killing enemy mobs and opening safehouses.
