Some time ago, there were reports from a certain closed screening (you can read them here) that the film Kraven is already a fact. What’s more – it is to be directed primarily to the oldest group of viewers and provide experiences around the screening of Marvel, which we have not dealt with for a long time. And it sounds really good – especially considering what an unusual character we’re dealing with here.
He is not even the main enemy of our favorite Wallwalker , but I don’t think anyone doubts that he has a lot of potential to become the hero of his own production. Well, it’s actually one of the things that makes me love the entire Spider-Man universe so much – it’s a big part of making sure even the supporting (and beyond) characters have some depth, story, and motivation.
For this reason, I hope that even more of them will see their own productions – both film and series. And today I would like to introduce you to my ten types from the Spider-Man universe that I would like to see in such an edition. What’s important – I’m not going to limit myself here to the main dimension, or even only to the positive characters. So, I invite you to read!
Mayday Parker
Let’s start with a very little-known heroine – Mayday is the daughter of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson from an alternative world. The girl inherited spider powers from her dad and this makes her in some way take over the baton from him. I would love to see a series with a young heroine – if only for the chance to watch Spider-Man as a father who has to learn that responsibility has many faces.
Spider-Gwen
Gwen Stacy is a heroine from an alternate world where she was bitten by an arachnid, not Peter Parker. Unlike Spider-Man, Spider-Gwen uses special feathers that he uses in combat, as well as when moving. In fact, we already got a nice incarnation in the animated Spiderverse, but I believe there is still a lot to show here.
Carnage
This is one of the most dangerous characters from the Spider-Man universe. Former prisoner Cletus Kasady becomes much more powerful and dangerous after merging with the Venom symbiote. His goal is to destroy everything and everyone around him. Already in “Venom 2” we got a bit of it, but it’s definitely not enough. A guest appearance is not the same as a separate production focused on it.
Otto Octavius as Spider-Man
After switching minds with Peter Parker, Otto Octavius takes on the role of Spider-Man and becomes “Superior Spider-Man”. This is how one of the best comic book runes about Spider in recent years begins. However, his approach to life and crime fighting is much more brutal and ruthless than Peter’s, but… His sense of good seems to take over him, which leads to unusual situations.
scarlet spider
Ben Reilly is a clone of Peter Parker and stands out from the rest of the Spider-Man with his signature red-hued costume and white hooded jacket (great design, chapeau bass for the designer). Ben has many similar abilities to Peter, but his fighting style and approach to life differ from the original, which adds a certain spice to everything. I definitely want more of him on screen.
Lizard
Curt Connors (because that’s his real name) is a character from the Spider-Man comics and one of his enemies at the same time. Initially, he was a respected biologist who lost his right arm. As a result of his experiments on tissue regeneration, he decided to inject himself with a serum to restore his hand. Unfortunately, this unexpectedly led to a mutation of his body – he began to resemble a huge lizard, with regenerative abilities and exceptional strength. And I would love to see a separate production about him.
Spiderman 2099
Miguel O’Hara is a man from the future who regained his Spider-Man powers after being exposed to dangerous substances. His costume has a futuristic design, and Miguel has many unique abilities, such as a slightly twisted perception of time. In the comics, the hero was great and there are many indications that he will also have a large role in “Across the Spider-Verse”. But now I want more.
Green Goblin
Norman Osborn, a wealthy and powerful businessman, became an enemy of Spider-Man after encountering a mysterious formula that enhanced his strength and intellectual abilities. His character is known for his distinctive costume and crazy, psychopathic personality. Could it work? Absolutely – with the eyes of my imagination I see something like “Joker” by Todd Phillips and I dare say that it would be a recipe for considerable success.
Black Cat
Felicia Hardy, a crime woman who gained her cat’s abilities through experimentation. Her costume consists of black leather pieces, and her abilities are primarily agility, reflexes, and hand-to-hand combat skills – all pumped up to superhuman levels. I would like to get a film in which she would be similar in terms of character to what was offered to us in the game from Insomanic Games.
Miles Morales
Finally, the most obvious of all and the most awaited option for a live-action film that can be. A young boy from Brooklyn who gained Spider-Man’s powers after being bitten by an arachnid – Miles Morales! Sure, he already got his animated version, or I mean live-action, where we could potentially weave it into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What do you think?
