Until a few years ago, only a few believed that Sony would bring its biggest games to PC, but it turns out that the PlayStation PC division generates gigantic results. Players can expect more ports from PS5 and PS4 to PC.
A few days ago, Sony presented financial results that confirmed the great interest in PlayStation 5. Players buy free copies of the console, which positively affects the performance of the entire Japanese corporation.
However, as it turns out – PlayStation fans are also eager to reach for PC items. The “other” division, which includes games for personal computers and peripheral devices (including PlayStation VR), generated a total of USD 2.51 billion.
This is a whopping $842 million more than the previous 12 months, which was apparently possible thanks to the strong catalog of PlayStation games that debuted on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
In the previous financial year, Sony released as many as five games on PC: Spider-Man Miles Morales, Uncharted The Legacy of Thieves Collection, Spider-Man Remastered, Returnal and The Last of Us Part I. This is a very strong set of titles that has certainly been noticed by players.
Hiroki Totoki, Sony’s CFO, confirmed that the company wants to continue to focus on offering PC games, but Sony wants to still offer older PC games – you can’t count on new products that will debut on PS5 and PC at the same time.
