London, late 19th century. A group of friends meet for dinner at a man who claims to be the first time traveler. He shows the gathered people a time machine he has constructed and tells the story of his first journey – to the year 802 701. At that time, the Earth was supposed to be inhabited by Eloi, descendants of people, living in harmony, spending time having fun and pleasures. But another species lived underground: the Morlocks, monkey-like creatures who came to the surface at night to kidnap the Eloi. To prove that his story was not fiction, the Traveler showed his guests flowers given to him by one of the Eloji, and then left them to embark on another journey… The Time Machine by Herbert George Wells is the first novel about travel in time, it is also a fascinating metaphor and critique of the social inequalities prevalent in Victorian England. It also refers to the then created theory of the degeneration of society.
The author of the comic adaptation of the novel is a screenwriter operating under the pseudonym Dobbs, known in Poland from the series Popes in history (“John Paul II”), while the drawings were made by the French cartoonist Mathieu Moreau.

The series was created with the youngest readers in mind, but there are many “flavours” that older fans of comics will also appreciate. All lovers of good humor (and good food) will find something for themselves in this series. The author of the drawings is Magdalena “Meago” Kania, a 2D graphic artist specializing mainly in cartoon and Asian style illustrations. The screenplay was written by Maciej Kur, the author of such series as “Kajko i Kokosz – Nowe Przygody” and “Lil i Put”. Together, they also created the comic book “Emilka Sza” which was very well received by Polish readers.
“Delisie” is the second project of the duo “Meago” – Maciej Kur. The artists reveal that they work great together. They have similar tastes, sensitivity and sense of humor, which makes them very easy to get along with. Work on the albums proceeds in such a way that first Maciej writes the script and prepares storyboards, and then “Meago” gets to work. Their vision of what “Delisie” should look like is very consistent. As a result, readers receive a well-thought-out and fun-created series.
