Hogwarts Legacy’s Nintendo Switch release has been postponed, according to Portkey Games and Avalanche Software, following the game’s release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The release date has been changed from July 25 to November 14.
The development team recently tweeted that making the best experience possible is its “top priority.” There was no other explanation given for the delay. Nevertheless, it makes sense to spend extra time optimizing the game for the Switch’s hardware given its size, scope, and graphical fidelity. Additionally, it makes sense to publish in the fall, when sales are typically relatively strong because of the proximity of the holiday shopping season.
Hogwarts Legacy is accessible on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and older system generations. Over 15 million copies have already been sold, bringing in over $1 billion for WB Games.
Hogwarts Legacy launches on Nintendo Switch on 11/14/23. We know fans are looking forward to playing on Switch, therefore creating the best possible experience is our top priority. Thank you for your patience.
