Revenant Hill has been announced by The Glory Society, the team behind the excellent Night in the Woods, and Finji, the company behind I Was a Teenage Exocolonist and Tunic. Twigs, the cat protagonist of this side-scrolling adventure game, resembles Mae from Night in the Woods in certain ways. She needs to pay the rent on her 1919 apartment close to a cemetery.
She will also speak to spirits, party with witches and demons, chat to them, raise and sell crops, form a community, and see how the world evolves through time. You can try to become a witch’s familiar by making hexes and charms, traveling to “stranger parts” of the globe, and other things. It’s up to you to fight back when a bad force begins to manifest as the planet changes.
Secret Lab is working on the dialogue system, A Shell in the Pit is doing sound design, and Priscilla Snow is writing the music as additional project participants. In addition to other duties, Finji is in charge of QA and marketing. There is no release date; thus, check back frequently for changes.
