Square Enix has prepared not only an extensive story. Final Fantasy XVI is to offer appropriate attractions after the end of the main story and the developers revealed all the cards a few weeks before the premiere.
A few days ago you could get to know our first impressions of Final Fantasy XVI, but of course Maciek did not get access to the entire game. The creators, however, present more details and in this case we can count on really huge content.
In Final Fantasy XVI, there will be an Arcade Mode, which allows you to revisit previously completed stages, but in this case their score is summed up – we have to approach duels in the right way to get the best result.
New Game+ will also allow us to enable two higher difficulty levels, but interestingly, choosing NG+ we will still be able to choose Story Mode (the lowest difficulty level focused on the story), but in this case we will get the other advantages of the variant – it will be useful, for example, when playing for trophies .
In New Game+ we will get access to all previously unlocked skills and equipment, but Final Fantasy Mode also promises to be interesting, because in this case the developers not only increase the difficulty level, but also rearrange the monsters and mix the enemies.
The main design philosophy is that the first playthrough is to learn Clive, master the controls, and then enjoy the story. For the second game, we want to shift the focus – because the story doesn’t change – to the action. For example, in story mode, while players may encounter waves of enemies, many times the opponents do not attack simultaneously to allow players to deal with the challenge. In the more difficult game modes, we removed these restrictions, allowing multiple opponents to attack Clive at the same time. Basically, what we’ve done with [Final Fantasy] is give Clive players the feeling that they’re always in danger, that death is just around the corner, and that you have to be really, really careful to be able to clear the area,” said Ryota Suzuki, fight director,
However, this is not the end, because the developers have also prepared … Ultimaniac Mode, a variant developed “exclusively for hardcore players” who are ready for the greatest challenges in combat.
In New Game+, we can also upgrade equipment and weapons to new levels, and even take part in the Chronolith Trials – these are the most difficult challenges in Final Fantasy XVI, which consist of many stages, and during the game we face four rounds of enemies. At the end of such a “trial” a boss appears.
