The Witcher‘s stellar performance was confirmed in CD Projekt’s financial results, which were presented today. In addition, the studio is gearing up for the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. The corporation’s president made the decision to address the most recent disclosures at the same time.
Adam Kiciski took advantage of the chance during the teleconference to make it plain to the world that CD Projekt has no plans to affiliate with another company. The studio is not for sale, but the corporation has a “great strategy” that is difficult to implement.
CD Projekt is not for sale. We want to remain independent. I think we have a great strategy. It’s definitely not easy to pursue it, but following your own path is very exciting, so it’s pure rumor – said Adam Kiciński.
This is not a major surprise given Ola Sondej’s response has already been mentioned, but as you can see, the President of the Management Board also made a decision to remark on the matter and highlighted the company’s independence.
Since CD Projekt has voluntarily worked with Microsoft over the years, exhibiting its games at subsequent Microsoft conferences or even implementing a special edition console with the Xbox manufacturer, many players have questioned Sony’s ability to compete with the Polish firm.
The years ahead for CD Projekt are going to be incredibly exciting. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be released in 2023, and after that, the company will begin work on a second, fully-fledged branch that will tell a different Night City tale. Three games, including the first installment of the new trilogy, are being created concurrently in the Witcher universe.
