Yesterday, on the website, we presented materials focusing on the latest Forza and Gran Turismo 7. The Xbox Game Studios title was also compared to other Sony races – although over 9 years have passed since the premiere of Driveclub, the effects contained in the production are not bad.
Driveclub debuted with major problems that directly affected the state of Evolution Studios. After achieving unsatisfactory results, Sony decided to close the studio , and some of the dismissed developers strengthened their ranks, including Codemasters. The team did not get a chance to complete the second part of the race – many PlayStation fans were convinced that the new project should see the light of day.
Driveclub was released on the market 9 years ago, so we are naturally unable to make a direct comparison, but there is no doubt that racing still evokes great emotions among many enthusiasts of the genre. It’s no secret that Evolution Studios has developed excellent weather effects, especially in a rainy atmosphere. For many recipients, production remains in this respect a determinant of quality for the entire genre.
There are plenty of comments under the published material calling Sony’s position the “rainy weather champion” , to which no races “even come close” . Some viewers emphasize that Forza Motorsport looks… pale. Although the developers played the game in 4K resolution with ray tracing at 60 frames per second, Driveclub does not lose much and looks impressive despite the passage of time.
