CD Projekt RED has completed work on Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty. The company is now moving to the next stage in the development of the universe, but we cannot count on a quick release of a new game in Night City. The company confirmed the sad reality.
At today’s Investor Day, CD Projekt revealed the sales results of Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty , and even announced a production with actors in the Cyberpunk universe . However, this is where the very positive news ends, because we will have to wait a few years for a new game in this world.
Adam Badowski, creative director of CD Projekt RED, confirmed during the event that the new Cyberpunk is still in the conceptual design phase.
This project is currently at the conceptual design level and will be designed by the team of veterans who were responsible for refining Cyberpunk 2077 and creating Phantom Liberty.
CD Projekt has not changed its plans and the new Cyberpunk will be developed from the United States, but the company plans to open several teams that will develop the production. At the end of 2024, the item will be developed in “teams of several dozen people”.
We will be working in North American locations, Vancouver and Boston, the team management is already there. However, at the end of 2024, we will work in teams of several dozen people, with half of the programmers ultimately working in the northern United States and the other half outside Poland.
We haven’t received specific information because Project Orion still needs a few years. It’s hard to say right now whether developers will be able to offer the game for the current generation. CD Projekt may once again face the big challenge of releasing a title on currently released and upcoming consoles.
