Redfall still hasn’t received the major announced updates, but the latest reports raise doubts whether Arkane will ever fix the game and get it back on track. Vampire fighting enthusiasts are already experiencing situations where they are unable to find people willing to play.
Redfall is a cooperative shooter that has faced considerable adversity since its debut. At its best moment on Steam, the title recorded 6,124 simultaneously logged in players, which, considering the scale of the project, was not a satisfactory result. Of course, the production has also been available on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass since its premiere, but many items that were released on identical platforms and Microsoft’s services are much more popular.
PCGamesN has noticed a disturbing situation – the number of simultaneously logged in players in Redfall has dropped to such a low level that sometimes it becomes impossible to fill a four-player lobby.
Every day since September 22, we’ve seen “single-digit players” playing Redfall via Steam. On October 1, the production was watched by 2 users of the platform.
At its peak in the last 24 hours, the cooperative shooter had 35 vampire-slaying fans tuned in, but if you analyze SteamDB, you’ll quickly notice moments when the number drops below 10 people.
Arkane faces a really difficult challenge, because removing bugs, fixing graphics, expanding the title, improving systems, and even ensuring the expected 60 frames per second on Xboxes takes time and a lot of money… The question is, is it worth saving this project at all?
