Exactly 10 years ago, one of the most beautiful games of the PlayStation era and definitely a great work by David Cage debuted on the market. Today we celebrate the 10th anniversary of Beyond: Two Souls.
When we were reaching the end of the PlayStation 3’s career, Sony’s great console had a few more great farewell hits, including Beyond: Two Souls from the fantastic Quantic Dreams. For 2013, this title looks absolutely outstanding, offered a strong story and for the first time in a long time introduced us to only one (well almost) playable character, Jodie Holmes.
The main character had a rather unusual problem. From an early age, she has been accompanied by a soul named Aiden, who is connected to her by a mysterious force. He helps, advises, communicates, and often also hinders – Aiden is there at every moment of life. For this reason, the heroine’s parents decide to consult a specialist – Nathan Dawkins – who deals with supernatural phenomena. The game allows us to trace 15 years of Jodie’s life, showing her in different periods. Two great movie stars were involved to play the main roles – Ellen Page (today Elliot Page) and Willem Dafoe.
Have you played Beyond? In my humble opinion, this is a better game than Heavy Rain.
