Dying Light 2 was only released a few days ago, yet it has already established itself as one of Steam‘s most popular titles. With over 250,000 concurrent players, Techland‘s open-world game is presently ranked 25th on Steam’s most-played list.
Since its release on Steam, Dying Light 2 has attracted a large number of players, much more than the original game. During its first 24 hours, the sequel drew over 180,000 gamers, and the number continued to rise throughout the weekend. Dying Light 2 has approximately 267,000 players at the time of writing, putting it in the 25th place on Steam’s most-played titles of all time, just behind Halo Infinite, Kholat, and Skyrim, according to SteamDB.
It’s unclear how things will play out in the next few days, but Dying Light 2’s peak record on PC appears to have already been established, as is typical for games released on their first weekend. However, there’s always the possibility that additional gamers will join Dying Light 2’s ranks of survivors, propelling it to a higher place.
Few games have had more successful Steam debuts in recent years than Cyberpunk 2077, New World, and Valheim, to name a few. The player base’s enthusiasm for Dying Light 2 is most likely owing to the long wait for the sequel. Initially, Techland set an unreasonable 2020 release date for the game, which, of course, never materialized.
What’s more important is that the Dying Light 2 community appears to be pleased with the game, with an average of 80% positive user ratings. Because the game’s rankings have risen slightly after its release, it’s possible that it’ll continue to rise when bugs are fixed and new content is released.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human is currently available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5, with the Switch version being delayed for a few months.
