In order to provide an explanation for the artwork that will be featured on the next Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth cover, Square Enix has turned to social networking site X. The artwork, which was conceived by and designed by Tetsuya Nomura, the creative director of the game, is intended to symbolize the three different universes that Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, and Zack Fair find themselves in.
According to Square Enix, the placement of Cloud and Zack on opposite sides of the artwork is supposed to signify the fact that their destiny would diverge due to the activities of the antagonist, Sephiroth. As a result of the activities of Sephiroth, the colors that make up the picture are designed to invoke images of fire and blood. The development team also claims that the red hues at the bottom of the game’s logo are meant to convey similar ideas to those discussed above.
The launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is scheduled for February 29, and initially, the game will be available for purchase on the PS5 console alone. Back in September, the game’s director, Naoki Hamaguchi, disclosed that the installation of the game on the PS5 will require a hefty 150 GB of space. Additionally included in the game’s physical version will be not one but two Blu-ray discs.

Cloud and Zack are on the side as they represent their destinies being torn apart by Sephiroth. The image of blood, fire, and red that evokes Sephiroth, stains the sky and spreads over the world. The subtle red shade in the logo is also inspired by the same imagery. #FF7R [2/2] pic.twitter.com/f31w8e1BoQ
