If you had fun playing the last Star Wars game – Jedi: Survivor, we have good news for you. The studio responsible for this title, Respawn Entertainment, has just started looking for a new lead gameplay designer for the upcoming games. Although the job advertisement does not directly indicate that it is a continuation of the adventures of Cal Kestis, we can with high probability assume that the studio is already working on such a title.

On the official website of Respawn Entertainment, we can read that the company is looking for an experienced lead gameplay designer who will quickly understand the studio’s philosophy and share his hard-earned knowledge. The right candidate will work with the creative department, including level designers, as well as sculpting code and supporting graphics and animation artists. His main tasks will include designing and improving control over the characters and gameplay mechanics.

It should come as no surprise to anyone that Respawn Entertainment wants to speed up the release rate of its games a bit . From recent information, we know, among other things, that the studio intends to completely switch to Unreal Engine 5, and for this we need a very experienced team. Work on the continuation of Jedi: Survivor is also confirmed by the recent statements of the actor voicing Cal Kestis (Cameron Monaghan), who suggested between words that he is “working on the third game in a galaxy far, far away.”

He additionally confirmed that several behind-the-scenes conversations have already taken place on this subject, but there are no clearly defined details yet. The director of the previous Jedi installments, Stig Asmussen, added in one of the interviews preceding the premiere of Jedi: Survivor that he always thought of these games as a trilogy. Unfortunately, he left the company in September, but we don’t expect this to significantly impact Respawn Entertainment’s future plans.

How did you enjoy watching Jedi: Survivor? Let me know in the comments! The latest update, number 7, significantly improved the performance mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles.
