On November 7th, Salt and Sacrifice, the sequel to Ska Studios’ 2D Souls-like game Salt and Sanctuary, will be available for purchase on Steam and the Nintendo Switch. Check out the announcement trailer that can be seen below; it’s currently available for purchase on PS4, PS5, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
In this role-playing game, players take control of Marked Inquisitors and use them to hunt down mages who have besieged their kingdom. In contrast to the original game, which was more in the vein of a Metroidvania experience, Salt and Sacrifice is more in the vein of Monster Hunter, as you go from level to stage in search of objectives. Defeat them to collect the resources they drop, then use those materials to craft formidable weapons and armor (including sets that have their own unique benefits), all while studying Runic Arts.
Co-op is also a part of Salt and Sacrifice, and despite the fact that it had some performance difficulties when it first released and that it was criticized for its repetition, it may be worth checking out for those who like the first game.
