Sucker Punch Productions is joining in on the hype as Horizon Forbidden West approaches its official release date in a little over a week. The company has released a new patch for Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut that will provide gamers a new attire for Jin Sakai based on the heroine Aloy from Horizon. This isn’t the first time Sucker Punch has used its game to pay homage to other PlayStation games, and those who have already obtained the previously published outfits will know how to get this new one.
Sucker Punch’s official Twitter account announced the patch earlier today, saying that the studio is “so excited for Horizon Forbidden West from our friends at Guerilla,” and that the company is “so excited for Horizon Forbidden West from our friends at Guerilla.” This new patch will “fix a Wind Shrine to the north of Iki Island,” with everyone who answers the Shrine’s puzzle earning an “Aloy-inspired surprise…” The tweet came with a sneak peek of Jin wearing the attire. He has a bow in his hand and appears to have just returned from a Nora Tribe mission.
This isn’t the first time an outfit inspired by Horizon has appeared in Ghost of Tsushima. Sucker Punch released four new outfits for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends in January, each inspired by legendary PlayStation characters. Outfits Inspired by God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and Bloodborne joined an Aloy look. These were gained by either completing the Legends story or completing survival tasks in the appropriate classes.
We are so excited for Horizon Forbidden West from our friends at @Guerrilla! While we wait, today we’ve released a new patch for Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut that repairs a Wind Shrine to the north of Iki Island. Only three of the outfits, however, made it into the main plot of Ghost of Tsushima. The Bloodborne, Shadow of the Colossus, and God of War costumes can be obtained by completing three unique shrines. For whatever reason, Aloy’s attire didn’t make its way into the main game until now.
The patch also includes a new Platinum difficulty option for Survival in Legends mode, as well as a remedy for a bug that caused occasional stutters during gameplay. Next month, a new patch will be released to address a few bugs in Legends.
