A real treat for fans of retrofuturistic productions and science-fiction atmospheres will soon be available on the market. The 11 bit studios and Starward Industries teams are in the final stages of promoting Invincible – on this occasion we can take a look at an extensive fragment of the gameplay.
The Invincible promises to be quite impressive from the very first materials . The developers drew heavily from Stanisław Lem’s novel when creating the story of Yasna, a member of a research mission who suddenly wakes up on an alien planet. The protagonist, who, according to the authors’ assumptions, is to be an inspiring, intelligent, nice character with a strong personality, empathy and sense of humor, will lead us through the nooks and crannies of Regis III. The theme of amnesia, which intensifies the sense of alienation and threat, will prove to be important.
Invincible was presented with a fragment of the gameplay – during 19 minutes we follow the actions of Yasna, who is trying to cope in a foreign environment, then we can look at shots from the research station, where other crew members are also present. Each hero has slightly different characteristics, and establishing relationships with them will influence the course of the mission.
Starward Industries wanted to create an extensive, life-like choice system in which even the smallest, potentially unnoticeable decisions can influence our future. However, the creators are still focusing on the plot, which will be the driving force of the gameplay in The Invincible .
We designed the choice system to be similar to what you experience in life. Sometimes you will be able to name different formations on Regis III and it will have no consequences other than pleasure. Other times, when talking to someone, your words and actions will shape your relationship with them, and this in turn may influence what they do in the future (either to your advantage or to your failure). You may also come across choices that seem insignificant at first, but will have huge consequences later in the game… so be careful and you might even get one of the many endings you can be proud of – we can read in the latest interview with Game Rant.
