Asobo has prepared another update for the world in Microsoft Flight Simulator. This time, the developers returned to the topic of northern Europe.
The Nordic countries had already received the World Update, but Asobo and Microsoft felt that the appearance of these incredibly diverse and beautiful areas could be further improved. Hence the idea to return to countries such as Iceland, Sweden, Norway and Finland . New here is Greenland, which has not been visually enriched before.
Microsoft received access to new satellite documentation, provided us with 90 new points of tourist importance, 9 cities with photogrammetry, 5 handmade airports (Iceland’s Akureyri Airport (BIAR), Norway’s Mo i Rana Airport (ENRA), Sweden’s Kiruna Airport (ESNQ) and Finland’s Ivalo Airport (EFIV) and a significantly improved DEM (landform mesh) for Iceland, Norway and Sweden. The new photogrammetry cities are as follows:
- Denmark: Copenhagen, Frederikssund, Odense and Roskilde
- Sweden: Gothenburg, Linkoping, Malmö and Visby
- Norway: Oslo
In addition, this free update includes four landscape flights, three wilderness trips, and three landing challenges.
The historic Swedish Saab B17A plane has also been introduced to the Microsoft Flight Simulator store and has a teaser.
Asobo promised some time ago that it would also devote more attention to Polish areas. We are still waiting for such an update.
