A new listing for a Risk of Rain 2 expansion has been made available on Steam, coinciding with the release of Risk of Rain Returns on November 8. Although there is not a lot of information currently accessible, its images show what appear to be enigmatic blue lights in the game’s current stages. A new patch is also available with some interesting patch notes.
Even the description of the store page provides very little information, despite the fact that there are five “packages” that have not yet been translated. It’s possible that with more time, these may become easier to spot. It is important to note that Gearbox Software, not Hopoo Games, is the developer. This makes perfect sense given that Gearbox Software bought the intellectual property rights to Risk of Rain and also co-developed the previous expansion, Survivors of the Void.
In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned for further developments. As of the year 2021, Risk of Rain 2 has sold more than four million copies on Steam and is accessible for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. The Nintendo Switch and personal computers will both be able to play Risk of Rain Returns, a remake of the original game by Hopoo.
