Elden Ring will be released on PC and home consoles on February 25th. In conjunction with the game’s launch a few weeks ago, Bandai Namco shut down all online services in all Dark Souls games after discovering a security vulnerability.
For those unfamiliar with the issue, RCE exploits can remotely run code on another player’s computer and then control it. This could give it access to sensitive data or allow it to run malware.
According to the discoverer of this vulnerability, it can also be used on the Elden Ring game, as it uses the same online system database that is used in the Souls games, which prompted Bandai Namco to disable servers and start working to close this loophole before launching the game next week. More details here..
As for the localization of the game, until the moment of writing this report, the matter has not been clarified, and we are still waiting for a clear comment from the representative of the publisher Bandai Namco in the region.
