The Last of Us 2 Remastered is coming to the market and the refreshed edition of the PlayStation 4 hit will receive new content. One of the developers boasted about working on a new gameplay variant and as a result, we learned the details of the No Return mode.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered will debut in early 2024 and will be the first PlayStation Studios game for the next 12 months. Sony has confirmed the leak in recent days , but we still do not know all the details about the prepared content.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered was developed by, among others, Colin Freeman, who was hired by Naughty Dog to test new content. The creator probably shouldn’t reveal such details, but he decided to update his LinkedIn profile, where he confirmed the details of the No Return mode.
According to the author, the new mode will not offer many locations. A representative for Naughty Dog confirmed that it “created, implemented, and tested AI dialogue areas in the engine” and “adjusted PAT tags on surfaces and objects” at 12 different levels.
We can suspect that in No Return we will go to 12 different places that we could have visited in the history of The Last of Us Part II and then face a new challenge. Colin Freeman mentioned in the description that the new variant of the game is a roguelike mode.
Colin Freeman also had the opportunity to tackle 135 missions in The Last of Us Part II Remastered – Naughty Dog refreshed each mission to adjust lighting levels “to match the visual filter aesthetic.”
